A Study Group for Nurturing the Wild, Communing with Shadow, and Initiating Ourselves into the Fullness of Life through the Lens of the Wild Woman Archetype

Healthy wolves and healthy women share certain psychic characteristics: keen sensing, playful spirit, and a heightened capacity for devotion. Wolves and women are relational by nature, inquiring, possessed of great endurance and strength. They are deeply intuitive, intensely concerned with their young, their mate, and their pack. They are experienced in adapting to constantly changing circumstances; they are fiercely stalwart and very brave.
— Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes

This study of the Wild Woman is not about intellectualizing mythic concepts or learning how to play a caricature of the Wild Woman archetype in our daily lives. This study is an invitation to awaken the instinctual nature of our bodies, and grow our access to our deep soul longings and song. This study is a tending-to of the primordial ache most womb-folk come into this world with at birth. It is a calling forth. An act of devotional curiosity. A willingness to witness what wants to be born in us.

My key desire with this study group is to create space for womb-folk to feel the permission to be psychically and spiritually whole in their being. This study group is a space to openly explore what emerges when we invoke the medicine of the Wild Woman and invite her as kin into the mun-dance of our daily lives.

This is a space to explore who might emerge from the shadows of the psyche’s forest edge. Who in us has been hungry for conversations like this? Who in us has been hungry for a room of kin who desire to release the stories of femininity and womanhood that have been handed to us in a colonized, westernized culture and live into these ways of being with ourselves that are raw? Wild? Yet, inescapably whole? This study group is about daring to gaze at the true souls of womb-folk through the lens of the goddess, the wolf, the dark, yin, the holy muse, and invite her in to speak to us a truth once more.
